Anonymous asked: Hi! I'm going to ECMUN14 (my second conference!) and I had a few questions. 1. One of the topics is Environmental Health (I'm on WHO.) Since this is such a broad topic, how do you recommend researching for it? Also, since only one resolution can be passed, how should I incorporate all aspects of the topic into one paper? 2. Also, the schedule mentions an "evening event" from 10PM to 1AM. Is this a deldance? Thanks!
1. I would start by reading over the brief, and seeing which aspects of the topic the chair wants to focus on! They usually also include some thought provoking questions and resources, which can be used as a jumping off point. The brief should be located on the conference webpage :) You’ll see that some resolutions, especially in more advanced conferences, tend to be as long as four or five typed pages—that’s how all the aspects of the topic are included. Don’t worry about covering them all yourself, the point is to collaborate with the delegates to make the most comprehensive and detailed resolution possible! Prioritize which issues you think are most important, and focus on that.
2. It probably is—in my experience, delegate dances are quite awkward haha but definitely check it out!
