However, it was kind of last minute, and it was right as the school year ended, so I'm not very sure of what I'm supposed to do (it's going to be my first time.) Could you please explain what exactly the tasks and duties of a Chair and Director are?
They change depending on the conference—generally, the director controls debate (who talks, moderated/unmoderated caucuses) and makes any big decisions regarding how the committee is going to function. They usually try to facilitate debate and steer the room a certain way, and push the delegates if they need to. It’s fun! Sometimes conferences will have directors write briefs and read over position papers… not as fun :) Anyone else have any advice/info?
